We are a progressive cricket Cricket Club
Mission Statement
To encourage and develop the future cricketers of Penarth by the provision of a safe, enjoyable
and sociable environment. This will be achieved by encouraging the development of teamwork, fair play and most of all, fun.
We have two main aims.
1) We are a big club that has grown significantly in recent years. We boast the UK’s
largest All Stars & Dynamos section (where you get started as a kid in cricket), our
junior age group teams have burgeoned, we have a women’s softball team and growing
number of girls’ teams as well as five Saturday teams, a Sunday friendly XI and mid-
week cricket games.
Current news: We are fund raising: Our small 2 bay nets are struggling in terms of
quality and capacity to cope. So, we also need to build a (expensive) four-bay net
practice area. Cost circa £90,000.00. We will soon be having to pay for the
maintenance of our two squares and outfields.
Both cricket and rugby provide for a huge number of people and families in Penarth.
The maintenance of facilities affects both sports and they the impact on the community.
Why is Penarth CC important to the community of Penarth?
Well, we connect with so many families notably:
300 children in all stars and dynamos the first steps into cricket (including 2
girls only hubs)
65 boys and 15 girls in older formats of junior cricket
82 men in senior cricket
8 women in senior cricket
24% men are ethnically diverse
We run 23 teams across all cricket including 2 girls and 1 women’s team)
This is 474 people that we offer a lifelong opportunity to be :
Active
Connect with others
Form friendships
Enable people to talk and share and support each other across various
needs. We know we are an important source of mental well-being for
our members and those linked via family and friends to the club.
Chair Mark Frost said, “We want to use this platform in a wider way to appeal to anyone
with a link (emotional, historic, or otherwise) with Penarth Cricket Club to consider
making a donation here to support the great work that goes on all summer (and a lot of
winter as well).”
